Today I stopped in at Big Lots.  (Never been in there  before.  I wanted to see what they had.  Turns out they have a bit of a lot of stuff.  I was very excited to find these two pieces of art that  I really liked.  Price --$15.00 total.  They one with the tulips I hung over the leather chair in the living room.  I am still deciding about the other one.  I have a couple of places in mind.  I love the poppies!
Also, at Big Lots, we found this nice little patio set.  Today was the perfect day to get it because it is so nice out today.  I predict lots of time will be spent in these chairs, reading or day dreaming.

Are you wondering what we do on our weekends?  The last few nights we have been watching one of my very most favorite movies--Anne (with an "e") of Green Gables.  I saw it at Costco and just had to buy it.  After looking it over, I realized that I had never seen the last sequel entitled "The Continuing Story" so look forward to seeing that.  What did you do this last weekend?

What do you think?  Doesn't he look like a cool dude!

The other day we got a call from Kent Rasmussen.  It was a little strange, but he said, "How would you like to keep our "Rhino" (that's what he calls this vehicle) in your garage." He said, "we are too busy to use it, and you could take it out any time".  He already had it loaded on his trailer, and in an hour it had a new home in our garage.  Today was a beautiful, sunny day so we went out for a ride.  It was really fun.  We will probably get a little braver as we get out more.  I don't know how long he plans for it to remain with us, but hopefully some of you will be able to go for a ride when you come.  Like I said, it seemed a little strange, but we didn't turn the offer down.

We spent one night in Las Vegas.  Don't you just love all the colorful pj's?  We spent this night visiting and watching the movie, "Mamma Mia."

There are not too many things more enjoyable than spending a weekend with my lovely daughters.  We shopped, eat, laughed and had a great time.  When can we do it again?

All good things have to come to an end.  The last of the girls get packed up for the ride back to the airport in Las Vegas.  I was sorry the end of the trip for Becky and Shannon wasn't too exciting.  They had a long trip home, but I am happy all are safely back home with their families, and I hope all the husbands and kids are still smiling.

Like Shannon, we had a Women's Conference on Thursday evening.  Ardeth Kapp was the featured speaker.  I was quite touched by her words and have thought about "peace" the last few days.  The Savior said, "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth...".  In the verse before he is telling his apostles that he will give them the "Comforter", which is the Holy Ghost.  This is the way to have peace in our hearts when all around is confusion.
Again the Savior told us " ... in me ye might have peace.  In the world ye shall tribulation: (we certainly know this) but be of good cheer I have overcome the world."

James E. Faust said, "A conviction that you are a daughter of God gives you a feeling of comfort (peace).  It means that you can find strength in the balm of Christ.  It will help you meet the heartaches and challenges with faith and serenity."

Today I read this scripture in Philippians which goes along with what I have been thinking.
Phil 4: 11 ". . .I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content."  Wouldn't this bring peace if we could be content with ourselves right now.  A comment was made at the meeting when Sister Kapp was asked the question "How are you?"  She said, "I am better than I was, but not as good as I am going to be tomorrow. "  She also said, "The world will not get better, but we will get better."  I like that.

One more scripture.  Phil. 4:13 'I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."

I am going to try harder to have the Holy Spirit with me more often.  Let us try for peace in our minds and hearts.
